As another new year unfolds, I’d like to take a moment to explain everything about Judith Hill Photography (JHP) and what we do here in my studio. It’s also a fun opportunity for you to get to know me more and what I represent. For starters, I am a portrait photographer who loves empowering clients to step out of their comfort zone, feel beautiful, and see themselves in a different light. I promise when you leave my studio, you will feel empowered to embark on a self-love journey that illuminates every area of your life and elevates your power within. Hi! I'm Judith. I have been a portrait photographer for over a decade. And my superpower is my ability to hold space for others to allow their authentic selves to shine through. I understand the importance of feeling comfortable on set, and I create this space for you to let go, get in touch with a different side of yourself, and reconnect with your confidence. That's why I believe my team and I are in the business of building confidence and celebrating lives.
Every time I photograph a client, I see a transformation unfolding in front of my eyes. From the moment they walk in the door, their confidence grows with each pose, and by the last shot, everyone feels and looks more empowered and at peace with who they are. Yet my favorite part of this transformation process is the ripple effect that expands beyond the studio. Their confidence pours into every aspect of their lives, including home, work, and community. And this ripple effect is the reason my studio exists and the greatest gift I can give someone.

Being professionally photographed is a new process for most, so we give A LOT of information up front and guide you throughout the entire process from pre-shoot all the way through to your ordering session.
What is included in a session?
All of my sessions include the following:
A pre-shoot design and wardrobe meeting on Zoom
Professional Hair and makeup
3-5 outfit changes
A fully guided photo session in my studio
Professional retouching of images
Does include one image with the ability to purchase more, if you so choose.
A guided Reveal and Ordering session in the studio
What is the process?
Once we have your shoot schedule, we will send you a VERY detailed prep guide for the type of shoot you booked. We will ask you to start putting together a mood board on Pinterest to help you create your vision. About 2-4 weeks prior to your shoot, we will meet on Zoom to go over your session, outfits, and design your dream shoot. During this meeting, you will have an opportunity to ask me anything. Nothing is off-limits! When you feel prepared, you are more likely to feel calm and confident on the day of your shoot. This is my ultimate goal for you because we want you to feel cared for as confidence creates stunning pictures you'll cherish forever.
On the day of your shoot, you will arrive with your outfits, your face cleaned and moisturized, and your hair clean and dried. We will style your hair and do your makeup. We are here to pamper and care for you. Think of your photo shoot as your day of self-care. We will handle every step so you can relax, feel beautiful, and be a star for the day. We will also talk about your desired hair and makeup look before starting. We are here to serve you and we view it as a collaboration. Not to brag, but my team of hair and makeup artists are the best of the best. They are beautiful souls and licensed professionals who work on commercial sets for music videos and corporate commercial sets. So rest assured you are in excellent hands. Our aim is to make sure you look like the best version of yourself on your best day!
While you are getting pampered, I will work on designing the flow of our session. I am always changing backdrops and lighting to give you several choices for your dream photoshoot. After hair and makeup, I will guide you on what outfit to put on and what backdrop we are shooting on. From there, I will coach and direct you through mirror posing. I will get in the pose and you will mirror me. I direct you the entire time while also leaving room for those candid shots.
So how do we make you feel confident and comfortable? We make everything FUN. Our experience is basically where the spa meets a photoshoot. We like to create a relaxing environment while also making it a celebration. We pamper you with hair and makeup. We play your favorite music on our Bluetooth speaker and we offer snacks, sparkling water, still water, champagne, and rosé. This is YOUR day to be spoiled, pampered, and cared for!
What types of shoots do we offer?
We offer 3 types of Shoots: Individual Sessions, Groups Sessions, and Personal Branding Sessions.
INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS
Individual sessions are a solo photo shoot experience designed for you and your dreams, visions, and goals. We capture magazine-worthy images in this session. There are four types of genres that fall under the category of individual portrait in my studio: the portrait combo shoot, boudoir, high school seniors, and maternity.
Combo Shoot
Let's start with the combo shoot, the most popular type in my studio, where you receive a little bit of everything. For example, you receive 3 to 5 outfit changes to really celebrate all the facets of who you are in a photo shoot through different outfits. Because let's be honest, fashion is the outward expression of how we express and present ourselves in the world.
The outfits include a day look, a sensual or intimate look for a boudoir, a branding look for updated headshots, an outfit that you might wear out on the town with the girls, or on date night or a cocktail party, and of course, a full-on glam look. You can choose any combination of these outfits for your session.
Your individual combo shoot is your chance to get creative, self-express, and of course, receive a day tailored to you and everything you represent.
This is great for self-care, celebrating a big birthday, or reaching a milestone such as graduating high school, college, law school, and so on.
Senior Photography for high school seniors is just treated like a combo shoot with multiple outfits to celebrate the young woman you are becoming and to honor your high school years.
Freezing moments in time and creating memories is what this is all about.
Boudoir
Boudoir is intimate portraiture. It is the line between fashion and glamour and involves empowering you to step outside your comfort zone to elevate your confidence and discover the power within you. These shoots are also meant to exude sensuality, and tasteful art in every pose, element, and breath. While they are intimate, you have complete control over how you wish to be portrayed. For example, traditionally, boudoir involves lingerie, and while we encourage you to show more skin, you choose what you want to wear. Therefore, your boudoir shoot is your self-empowerment shoot, and from start to finish, we will guide you to express yourself, dance outside your comforts, and step into the shoes of a fiercely confident, sexy, and powerful woman. This woman exists within you, but you may need a boudoir shoot to help release her.
And the best part about boudoir is that you can offer yourself this gift as an act of self-care and empowerment. You don’t need a partner, lover, or spouse to indulge. Boudoir shoots are designed to create a positive relationship with your body, self-perception, and value. So, if you’re tired of the cycle of self-criticism and are ready to fully embrace the woman you are, book a boudoir shoot, own your sensuality, and enjoy the newfound confidence it provides.
Maternity
The maternity shoot captures your growing baby bump, the moment before your child's birth, and the relationship between you and your baby. Some of my soon-to-be mothers request an individual session, whereas others ask to bring in the whole family; both photoshoots are available for your preference. Overall, your maternity session allows you to freeze this special moment in your life and cherish the beautiful family you’re building. Every moment is focused to give you a day of self-care, relaxation, and a chance to feel beautiful and at peace before a new chapter begins.
PERSONAL BRANDING
Our personal branding sessions are for individuals who want to elevate their brand in the marketplace with authority, leadership, and professionalism.
Truth be told, I wasn't always a photographer. In fact, for about 14 years, I worked in economic development, recruiting new businesses to the Nashville market and helping existing ones grow. Nashville was a different place in 2004 than it is today. And one of the biggest lessons I learned was how to control the brand's narrative. We had to rebrand the city because at the time people only thought of us as a Country Music town, and that is not the case today. My old boss said, "Your brand is what people say about you when you're not around. Marketing is how you control the narrative".
This quote encompasses exactly how I feel about personal branding. You can replace the word brand with legacy or reputation; it is what people talk about when you're not around. Therefore, updating your professional images is the quickest way to get noticed and elevate your brand in the marketplace.
We will discuss how your current image represents you in the marketplace and how you want to elevate it. We will also look at your marketing plan and where these images will be used and then shoot with that in mind.
The session will reflect your brand’s aesthetic, tone, and vibe, and is a great opportunity for anyone in the C-suite executives, entrepreneurs, small business owners, bloggers, musicians, authors, educators, or anyone who wants to stand out in the marketplace.

GROUP SESSIONS
These shoots are for those who want to be photographed with the relationships they cherish the most in the world.
The types of groupings we photograph in the studio are mother+daughter, multiple generations, immediate family, couples, and best friends.
There's always something so special and enduring about the mother+daughter, generational, and the best girlfriends shoots. These images represent the love you share with the people who matter most to you, and after the shoot, you have a tangible memory of the experience you shared together.
These sessions, like all my sessions, come with a wardrobe and design consultation prior to your shoot, and professional hair and outfit changes. When we shoot generations or mother and daughter, all the women receive professional hair and make-up. When we do family sessions, the women and older girls will come in first for their day of pampering so they can have special girl time before the men and toddlers come. We ask, however, that dads and toddlers come in for the last hour of the photo shoot so we can capture those individual shots and all of the group photos we would do during a family photo shoot.
We often get caught up in the daily grind and forget about our own powerful potential. It’s important to see yourself standing in your own personal power and confidence, and it’s particularly important for your children to see you proudly embodying self-love.
